Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 medium breadfruit ripe but firm
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Prepare the Breadfruit

  • Peel the breadfruit, cut it into quarters, and remove the core.
  • Slice each quarter into fry-sized sticks (about ½ inch thick).
  • Rinse and pat dry with a clean towel.
  • Place the breadfruit sticks in a large bowl, drizzle with oil, and sprinkle over the spices. Toss until everything is well coated.

Air Fryer (healthier)

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C)
  • Arrange fries in a single layer in the basket.
  • Cook for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.

Deep Fry (traditional)

  • Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry in small batches for 3–5 minutes, until golden.
  • Drain on paper towels and season with a little extra salt.
